Friendly owned winery

In 2004 long-time friends Paul Giusto and Michael Sebastiani joined forces to create their own wine company called Generations of Sonoma. Around this time, there were several family wineries that were being purchased by large corporations, so their goal was to create a wine brand that was to be considered Sonoma’s “home town winery”. Putting their combined years of experience together with their long-term relationships with some of Sonoma Valley’s iconic family owned growers, the Highway 12 brand was born.

Stewards of the Wine Highway

For anyone who has visited Sonoma’s wine country, they will know that Highway 12 is considered California’s “wine highway” spanning from Sebastopol in the Russian River Valley to the West, then rolling East through Sonoma Valley, Carneros, Napa Valley, California’s Delta Region, and ending just past Lodi at the San Andreas fault. Paul and Michael have dedicated themselves as stewards of the rich tradition and quality of these growing regions along Highway 12 by producing high quality, value driven wines that can be enjoyed by all wine consumers.

Sonoma Valley Lifestyle

Reflective of the laid-back Sonoma lifestyle, Highway 12 Winery has stayed true to its roots with strong ties to the local community, and prides itself in its non-pretentious approach about wine’s role in everyday life. “Clean Jeans” are the attire for those special events where other brands prefer a suit and tie. When visiting the winery, you will find friendly, down to earth people with a lot of then being multi-generation Sonoma residents and farmers just swinging by to say hello.

Stopped in for an impromptu wine tasting while exploring Sonoma, and had a great time. Nick was an excellent guide, answered all our questions fully, and provided a wonderful experience on the patio. The wines were excellent and made all the better with the context and history provided.

Had a great time here! Wine was excellent and the tasting room was very nice. We did the indoor tasting and I highly recommend it. It is basically a private loft with comfortable seats and room for about 5 or 6. It is a bit hard to find as it is in a little courtyard of various shops. I believe the building says "Highwayman" on it not highway 12, because highwayman is their top tier wines.

We visited Highway 12 as part of a couple of days 'away' visiting Sonoma, and as an afternoon wine-tasting experience. Highway 12 was very intimate - it's a very small place with about a dozen chairs outside. We visited mid-week, so there were only a few other people there with us. My advice to anyone else doing this: try to take along some food to soak up all the wine. And make notes about what you're tasting, cos you'll forget where you've been and what was just in front of you. It happens....🥂

Walked in for a tasting and was very impressed with the wines on the tasting. Service was great and I enjoyed all the wines on my tasting. The chardonnay was amazing, and I am not usually a chard guy. The red blends I tried were all excellent, but I think the Trailblazer blend. I enjoyed the relaxed outdoor seating with plenty of shade. It has a very casual feel, and the staff can speak to wine snobs and wine noobs as well. I definitely recommend this place should you be in Sonoma,
