The hometown heroes

When family wineries started getting swallowed by big corporations, longtime friends Paul Giusto and Michael Sebastiani chose a different road. In 2004, they teamed up to create Generations of Sonoma—a wine company rooted in heritage, built on friendship, and fueled by local vineyards. They then launched Highway 12 Winery.

Today, The Barn—our downtown tasting room in the historic J.G. Marcy Stable—keeps that spirit alive. Offering wines with a sense of place, that are poured in true Sonoma style.

Stewards of the Wine Highway

Highway 12 isn’t just a stretch of pavement—it’s a ribbon of vineyards, valleys, and history connecting Sonoma to Napa, Carneros, and beyond. From the Russian River to the San Andreas Fault, this road tells California’s wine story. Paul and Michael took up the mantle as its stewards, blending tradition, terroir, and value into wines that stay true to the journey. To produce world-class wine that is within reach of every table.

Iconic vineyards at the core

Our grower partnerships aren’t contracts—they’re friendships forged over decades. Built on trust and respect, these relationships open the gates to California’s most renowned vineyards along Highway 12, ensuring every bottle reflects the quality and character of the land itself.

Sonoma Valley Lifestyle

Highway 12 is Sonoma, straight up—laid-back, rooted in community, and never pretentious. Around here, clean jeans beat a suit and tie, and our tasting room feels more like a neighbor’s porch than a showroom.
